THE HUNTRIDGE FOUNDATION RESPONDS TO FAILURE OF HUNTRIDGE THEATRE DEVELOPMENT EFFORT
Las Vegas, NV — The Huntridge Foundation is deeply disappointed to hear of today’s news reported on KNPR State of Nevada that the latest development attempt by the Huntridge Revival, LLC, to purchase and renovate the historic Huntridge Theatre has failed.
“We had every hope that this effort to acquire and renovate the theatre would succeed,” said Daniel Roberts, President of The Huntridge Foundation. “We encourage the Revival to honor their commitment that if the project failed, they would return the $207,355 Indiegogo funds raised back to the people who supported their efforts, or donate it to The Huntridge Foundation in support of our continued efforts to preserve the building. The nonprofit is poised to attract appropriate investors espousing financial wherewithal, generosity and most importantly, passion for the theatre and its rich history.”
The Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, has committed to preserving the Huntridge Theatre since July 2012, and has been documenting the community’s personal stories and memories of the theatre through the Memory Project. Audio and visual artifacts feature the Foundation’s researched theatre archives and memorabilia. The Foundation also received a grant award from Nevada Humanities this year to produce a cultural and educational exhibit consisting of Huntridge Theatre artifacts through the decades.
The Huntridge Foundation mission is to preserve the architectural integrity, history and culture of the Huntridge Theatre and the surrounding community. The Huntridge Foundation welcomes volunteers and fellow theatre supporters to assist in the cause to preserve the theatre; interested individuals may email the Foundation at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
